HEAT PROCEDURES
- *Draw closes 6:00pm. (Miss draw, begin both heats in last.)
- 2 heats per class each night, 15 minute time limit on all heats, beginning when gate is closed.
- Heat races are 8 laps, except Jr. Beginner class, which has 5 lap heats.
- 1st heat race line-up is determined by draw.
- 2nd heat lne-up is 1st heat race finish inverted. If you have a DNF in 1st heat, you will be in the rear of 2nd heat.
- Heat race finishes are added together to determine Feature line-up. 1st heat finish breaks a tie.
- Parents and others are not allowed in the infield during the racing program for all classes, except the 3HP Jr. Beginner Class (1 adult per kart).
- Anyone entering the racetrack without permission during a race will disqualify his or her kart for that race. In the event of a caution, ONLY the flagman can give the okay for pit crew to enter the track for kart assistance. This is for everyone's safety as until all karts are slowed down or stopped, someone could get hurt very easily.
- If you die in the shoot (before the gate) you have 30 sec. to start your engine, and keep position. After that time you will not be allowed to enter the track. This will be enforced.
- STARTS - Flagman starts all races on the initial green flag, example; before 1st lap.
- Green will be given when front row karts are keeping a reasonable pace, and front row karts are even with each other. A line is put on the track where to start. It is the responsibility of the karts behind them to keep up.
- Any kart behind front row jumping the start 2 times will be moved to the last place position.
- If front row cannot start after 3 tries, then entire front row goes one row and all other rows move up.
- RE-STARTS- After 1 complete lap only. Front row kart is responsible for slow even starts. Front row kart starts the race.
- Jr. Beginner class - flagman starts all.
- All other classes, the front row kart may start race in turn 3 if lights are off and caution is ended. It is up to the drivers to stay close and lined up, but completely behind, the front row kart. Any kart jumping the start 2 times will go to the rear.
- In all classes, single file restarts after 1/2 way thru. A cone will be placed in the area of the re-start. Any kart passing another kart before the cone will be sent to the rear. Keep in mind, this does not mean that a kart will always start exactly at that cone. The cone will be close to that area, but the leader starts the race.
- RED/YELLOW - If there is a red/yellow, all karts involved, and karts stopped on the track and infield at that time, will go to the rear.
- Any kart not running after entering the track will be allowed to start engine, if this becomes excessive, the kart will be sent to the pits. IF THIS BECOMES A PROBLEM WE WILL GO BACK TO THE DEAD ENGINE RULE.
- You may re-start your motor during a red/yellow. Do not enter track until allowed by flagman, or you or your driver will be sent to the pits for the remainder of the race. This will be enforced. This is for your safety. If you are not involved in the red/yellow, you may keep your position. If you were involved, or the red/yellow was called on you, or stopped on the track or infield at the time, you will go to the rear.
- If any kart is involved in 3 red/yellow flags in the same race for any reason, the kart will be sent to the pits for the remainder of the race.
- REPAIRS - You may not make repairs to your kart in the heats; if you break or motor dies, you are out. You may restart motor during a red/yellow.
- Any kart loosing fuel, bumpers, mufflers and/or other parts will be sent to the pits and will receive a DNF, and start at the back of the 2nd heat. If this happens during 2nd heat, kart will start at back of feature. Exception - When it's on the final lap, we will finish the race, and no penalty will be assessed for that kart.
- BLACK FLAGS - A black flag may be given anytime, during the start, during a caution, and even on the last lap. If you get a black flag in a heat you will start all other races, including the feature, in the rear. There must be 2 or more track officials in agreement to give a Black Flag. If you tear up another kart while under a caution, you will automatically be black flagged. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
- In any class, the first place kart completes that lap. Not all other karts must pass start/finish line to complete that lap. During a caution, we will go back 1 lap for the lineup. For example, the first place kart completes lap 3, but the other karts are still on that lap, and a caution comes out. The order of the completed lap 2 will be used for the lineup. Likewise, if all karts complete lap 3, then have a caution before the next lap is completed by the leader, we will go back to the completed lap 2 for the lineup. If a caution happens during the 1st lap, we will call a re-start, but karts involved will go to the rear. It will always back up 1 lap, unless it is on the first lap, and the karts involved in the caution will go to the rear.
- The race procedures, with the exception of inappropriate conduct, may or may not be used in the 3HP Jr.Beginner class at the discretion of the track owners. This is a learning class and needs to be handled differently.
- Do not approach flagman, scoring judges, or on-track officials during a race. This WILL result in your kart being black-flagged and sent home immediately without points for the night!!!

- *A Mechanical repair area will be provided to work on karts. Work must be in the designated area only (not on track). Karts can be pushed or carried to the work area. When you are in the repair area, there's no time limit, but the race will not wait.
- After the green flag drops on restarts, or while racing under green, karts in repair area will be allowed to re-enter the track at the discretion of the flagman, or at next caution.
- Any kart loosing fuel, bumpers, mufflers and/or other parts will be sent to the repair area. Kart must have all required parts (eg. mufflers) back on properly to come back on the track, and kart must make necessary repairs to come back on track. Exception - when it's 1 lap to go we will try to finish the race.
